The Team at Strohschein Law Group
Welcome to Strohschein Law Group, LLC. This is a family-owned law firm which is exclusively devoted to the practice of Estate and Long Term Care Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, Guardianship and Probate Litigation. We deal with sensitive family situations every day and realize how difficult they can be at times. We too are a family (some by blood relationship and others by choice) and we wanted you to know a little bit about us, as we guide your family through difficult times.
This is me, Linda M. Strohschein. I am the owner of the law firm. I have been in practice since 1996 and owned this business since 2004. I started my legal career handling Probate Litigation in a suburban law firm. After three years, I decided that there must be a better way to avoid Will and Trust conflicts by drafting the documents correctly in the first place. I then proceeded to law firms in Chicago where I learned extensively about drafting Wills and Trusts, especially for Special Needs families. Then my own family brought my focus back to the St. Charles area when I started Strohschein Law Group. Over the years, we have grown to a team of 11 and we continue to add talented new people because the need keeps growing. I have two very active school age kids that keep me busy and smiling, a dog "Annie", two cats, three fish and a frog. I am not sure how the fish arrived but the kids seem to like them. My email address is Linda@StrohscheinLawGroup.com

Tina has over a decade of experience in the areas of Guardianship, Elder Abuse, Estate and Trust Administration, Special Needs Planning, Veterans Benefits, and Medicaid Planning. She truly enjoys everything from piecing together a difficult benefits application, helping a family settle an estate, and drafting pleadings on complex guardianship issues. Tina serves as the Elder Law Chair for the Illinois Paralegal Association and serves on the Board of Directors for one of the largest senior service organizations in the Chicagoland area. Tina lives in the Northwest Suburbs with her husband, their two daughters, and a very spirited Jack Russell Terrier. Laurie Stephans is a Paralegal with Strohschein Law Group. Her previous position as Client Services Administrator, coupled with extensive experience as a writer, is helping achieve a smooth transition. She and her husband share an empty nest in Plano, as their three daughters are now out on their own. In addition to exploring the realm of creative writing, in her spare time Laurie loves to read, cook, and play computer games … and has what she calls an encyclopedic knowledge of and never ending passion for musicals and show tunes! None of these loves come close, though, to the greatest joy in her life – her two grandsons who, thankfully, live close enough for proper spoiling by Grandma! Laurie can be reached at Laurie@StrohscheinLawGroup.com
Peggy Amenta is a Client Services Director at Strohschein Law Group and is often the friendly voice you hear when calling the firm. Peggy keeps the calendar up-to-date, schedules appointments, creates new client files and coordinates a wide variety of office mailings. Peggy's favorite tasks are shredding and filing – actually they are her least favorite, but you couldn't tell because she always has a smile or something to make us all laugh. Peggy has seen the need for Long Term Care advocates first hand and brings a real world approach to the firm. She lives in the Tri-City area with her husband and a variety of adult children who temporarily return to the nest. Peggy can be reached via email at Peggy@StrohscheinLawGroup.com
Joy Meyer is a Client Services Administrator at Strohschein Law Group. She handles a variety of administrative duties such as correspondence and maintaining files. She may also be the one who answers the phone when you call our office. She lives nearby with her husband and boy/girl twins and looks forward to occasional visits from her step-son. Joy enjoys watching her children's basketball games and date nights with her husband. Her family spends every opportunity on summer nights to enjoy time together on their patio while Chicago weather permits. Joy can be reached at Joy@StrohscheinLawGroup.com
Diane Gutshall is my sister and the Office Manager with Strohschein Law Group. Diane joined the law firm as a favor to me working a few hours at a time only twice a month. Diane and I have spent many late nights at this office creating what you see and experience as a client. Diane efficiently handles all of the invoices as well as a myriad of marketing duties, office and computer maintenance. She lives locally with her husband and three children who are also called to duty at Strohschein Law Group to help out their favorite aunt. Diane is the self-declared expert on all things Walt Disney World. If you ask her, she will be able to tell you which animals at Animal Kingdom are real and which ones are animatronics. Diane can be reached via email at Diane@StrohscheinLawGroup.com
Susan Henberger is my Mom and the Bookkeeper with Strohschein Law Group. She was my supporter from day one when I realized back in Seventh Grade that I wanted to be a lawyer. She was also my very first employee because who else can you trust but your Mom when it comes to the finances of the business! Susan (Mom) manages the day-to-day tasks that a busy firm requires such as payroll, various human resource duties and, of course, accounts payable. My Mom and Dad had several businesses when I was growing up so she definitely brings real world business expertise to the Strohschein Law Group. She lives locally and plays a mean hand of Canasta or Triple Play when asked. Susan can be reached via email at Susan@StrohscheinLawGroup.com
Stephanie Gandy is the Marketing Coordinator at Strohschein Law Group. Stephanie designs and coordinates all advertising and presentation materials for our community, clients, educational programs, and business to business trusted networking. She employs her 16 years of teaching experience into the creation and distribution of the many materials including our Strohschein Advocate newsletters and postcard mailers, the monthly Strohschein Outlook as well as keeping the website updated to keep current events and topics in focus. Stephanie is an Arizona native that relocated to the Tri-City area with her husband, son, and daughter a few years ago. Although the weather has been somewhat of an adjustment, she appreciates the four seasons and the Midwest culture. The kids are growing fast and Stephanie appreciates being able to stay involved with their daily activities in addition to taking advantage of any free-time to share with her family and friends. Stephanie can be reached via email at
We are excited to introduce our newest staff member, Annie! She is a six year old Wheaten Terrier (hypo-allergenic breed) that Linda adopted from a local rescue shelter. Her disposition is gentle and sweet and she loves to meet our daily visitors. Her favorite color is green, like her doggy bed found under Linda's desk, and she enjoys sharing her time among the staff throughout her busy day. She will occasionally find a seat in one of the side chairs to either get a better view or just encourage a little attention. If you aren't a dog person, no worries! Just let us know before you plan to arrive and Annie will gladly take a nap on her cozy doggy bed!
As you can see, the Team at Strohschein Law Group keeps growing. The reality is that I could not practice law as effectively without the team beside me. It is a pleasure to work with these family members and those who have become part of this family. We enjoy our work and it is a pleasure to serve your family no matter what situation you are facing.*The Supreme Court of the State of Illinois does not recognize certifications of specialties in the practice of law and this certification is not a requirement to practice law in Illinois
